Another Tottenham player could be sold in January – report

|

According to Adrian Kajumba of the Daily Mail, Victor Wanyama could be sold in January. The 28-year-old has been short of playing time for Tottenham this season and will be made available for sale as a result – he’s said to be on a list including Serge Aurier and three others.

Wanyama was expected to be sold over the summer, but he turned down the chance to sign for Club Brugge. The Kenyan international now finds his career at a crossroads as he’s on the periphery in North London.

Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier, Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Harry Winks are all ahead of Wanyama in the pecking order, so a parting of the ways looks on the cards.

The defensive-midfielder racked up just 838 minutes of Premier League football in 2017/18, 509 minutes in 2018/19, and only has 23 minutes to his name this season. He hasn’t played a single minute of football in October either.

Wanyama will have to leave Tottenham in pursuit of more first-team football, but it remains to be seen what club he’s looking to join. The 28-year-old has been linked with a return to Celtic, but his £65k-per-week wages might prove a stumbling block.
