It’s turned into quite a busy January transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur as we’ve seen the arrivals of Giovani Lo Celso (turned permanent), Gedson Fernandez and Steven Bergwijn, but most of our business has been departures and although Christian Eriksen is probably the most high profile leaver, with fans already talking about a ‘new era’ after Mauricio Pochettino left, Danny Rose heading to Newcastle United on a loan spell until the expiry of his contract will be another move that splits the fans.

With all of Rose’s interviews in recent years, he hasn’t really held back in giving his thoughts and that was certainly true last November as he discussed the rumours of a summer departure and stated that he would be letting his contract run down.
Something has obviously changed with his switch to St James’ Park, but it’s probably best for all parties as he certainly wasn’t in Jose Mourinho’s future plans.
Fans were again mixed in their reaction when the news came through as there are those who have turned against him, but given his lengthy service he definitely still has his supporters – even if they agree it was time to part company.

People abusing him after all the mental health issues hes suffered from is just wrong. Ye hes outspoken but at times he only said what we all felt. A good servant whose fallen out of form for obvious reasons. Best of luck Danny.

Hope he’s played his last game in a Spurs shirt. His negative attitude won’t be missed
