As I type there are a few hours left in the January transfer window before the deadline passes and plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping to see Jose Mourinho add a more established central striker to our ranks, and our gaffer faced a few questions about the window earlier on Friday afternoon as he met with the press to discuss this weekend’s clash with Manchester City.
With a few arrivals so far this month and a number of departures, Mourinho attempted a humorous response when tasked about how he felt we had strengthened in the New Year, but a number of fans certainly weren’t happy to see him describe the injury return of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and the emergence of Japhet Tanganga as the proverbial new signings.

Whether or not we do get someone else over the line tonight is anyone’s guess and there will be those fans not staying up to find out, but some of the responses to his words were quite good really, even if it was through frustration and gritted teeth.
Lamela too, always feels like a new signing! pic.twitter.com/ug99VFUDIv

We sign him quite a lot don't we! 🙄

Shame neither of those players play DM or striker.

I wonder what Jose's assistant is like as a false 9?

So when somebody returns from injury it s a signing? Right, why didn't we sign anyone we needed then

15m a year might have something to do with it……

We also sold Harry Kane in a funny way.

He’s been Levy’d

Lloris could probably do work up top
— Ben🤑 (Lo Celso Propaganda) (@MolesBen) January 31, 2020
He might as well have said “no more signings” 😂

"In a funny way"??? Well I'm not laughing and neither will you and Levy be without European Football next year!
— Richard Roskell 🇪🇺 (@richrosk) January 31, 2020
That is a very Levy thing to say… Poch said it a couple times 😳
