Spurs At The European Championships Thread

|

After a long, hard and ultimately disappointing season for Tottenham Hotspur, we have a busy summer in store now as we look to both sort out our managerial situation as well as strengthen the group via the transfer market – as massive question being Harry Kane’s own future.

Whilst we’ll hopefully have our new manager in within a few weeks (or maybe our old manager given the Mauricio Pochettino rumours) it’s unlikely much will happen on a transfer front until we see the culmination of this summers European Championship competition.

In a world still dealing with Covid, personally, I think international football is slightly ridiculous at this moment in time, but money makes the world go round doesn’t it – Spurs fans will however have a natural interest in the tournament given the players and former players that should be on show.

If nothing else it’ll be a distraction for a few weeks – so anything Euro related can go in here VSers.

    Good post there HT.

Donny your whingeing about Paratici already, bloody hell mate give him a chance, he doesn’t officially take up his position in the Spurs world until July 1st 2021.
Trying doing a “Danny Rose” on him and you will find he has a good rep thus good at his job, all we are getting is the “norm” media bullshit, much of the spread/started by the alien agent Mendes.

2 weeks to the announcement of our new coach, then the work begins, if it already hasn’t behind closed doors, Spurs have never been that open or publicity wise with their goings on, thus quite secretive until the “Spur are pleased to announce” get my drift.

On the forecast side for next season am going for 5th and a Trophy. COYS

I do huff and puff to blow down the walls to chase out piggy wiggy managers, though.

By the way, if Bale was too fragile to play 90 minutes for Spurs, how’s he doing so several times a week for Wales?

  • TK says:

Predictions for the coming season? Jesus, Joseph, and Maria. I cannot imagine who will be on the touchline, much less who will be in the squad, and what kind of team and tactics we will have.

We will end the coming season somewhere between first place and last. We will shed many tears and have some cheers. HK10 will be with us. Or he won’t. The managerial choice will unite us or divide us.

jod will return or he will not.

we will each get a year older or we will not. I hope the former rather than the latter. The sole way not to grow old is to die young.

Here’s to growing old. Keep it up, mates. Keep breathing. Come On You Respirations.

  • Hot Tottingham says:

By the way, when I wrote that most players contracts run to June 1st, I meant July 1st. It’s actually June 30th. With new contracts usually kicking off on the following day, July 1st.

And PY is correct. July 1st is when Paratici’s contract takes effect from. So the man hasn’t even officially started in his new post yet.

But still, let’s start knocking him now anyway!

    • TK says:

I agree, HT. A good Spurs welcome is to welcome him into being criticized. Until we express our frustrations and disagreements, he isn’t really part of the family. This is the most sincere welcome he can receive.

Being polite is for visitors to a home. Being involved in the noise business of the family is being welcomed into the home for real. I think this is true in all cultures. Families are places for disputes among those who love one another. And place for newcomers to show that they are worthy both of the love and the disputations.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Apparently Man City have made an opening bid for Kane of £100m cash or if we prefer a combination of cash and any of of Jesus, Sterling or Laporte. I know we’ve seen simlar in the gossip columns for some time but it would appear it is solid information now.

Not sure I’m keen on p/ex’s as you can’t be sure they are coming with their heart in it.

    • PompeyYid says:

TQ, have a look at the parasite, sorry reporter, who wrote/said MC have put in a bid of £100m for HK, that’s same parasite that has been shit stirring with rumour all bloody close season so far, and more, regards Spurs. COYS

    • PompeyYid says:

TQ, a follow up to my earlier reply the parasites name is …. Fabrizo Romamo, so all utter bullshit. COYS

      • PompeyYid says:

        Romano not Romamo, lol! COYS

      • TQ2Spurs says:

Morning PY…. it is being reported by a lot of very respected media outlets so if it is bullshit they are all going to have very red faces!

        • PompeyYid says:

Afternoon TQ, that’s fair enough, but even the respected media outlets do tend to jump on the bandwagon, my problem is the parasite who released that info is so full of shit its unbelievable.

Anyway if it is true, £100m, you know what Levy will say, yep! a big fat NO! COYS

    • 62rovinella says:

Both city and spurs denied any contact or bid yesterday,do the journalist must have been the bidder 🙄🙄🙄

  • 123spurs says:

If kane wants out, where is his written transfer request or did I miss it. If we don’t get over the odds for him “no sale” still in his prime and contracted until 2024. Come in levy work your magic again and get top dollar.

  • TK says:

Levy’s magic is to wait so long to get top dollar that there’s nothing left to spend it on and we get the eight dwarfs for the money gained from selling the world’s best player.

    • 62rovinella says:

Seems levy and lewis are driving most up a wall…. hilarious stuff being bandied about……wonder what the result of levy and lewis meeting in the Bahamas was,was it beneficial to the fans and the footballing side of things or to lining of pockets???!
      We’ll see soon.
I would take potter if we can’t get a proper top coach seeing as poch is possibly out of reach now.
Can no longer get humty Dumpty as he was too badly broken ,so what the hell….I would agree to sell Kane if he in fact wants to go as long as the money is reinvested in the squad…no more of the eriksen type saga…..sell him to poch if the money is right……coys

  • TK says:

    62Rovinella

So, you have trust in DL et al. for them not to buy a set of 11 inept bumblers and fumblers with the Kane money?

    • 62rovinella says:

Tk…..trust them or not it’s them that does these things, what can we do but hope for the Best???🙏🙏

  • wentworth says:

Well, the saga goes on. Just like the transfer window, Levy is unable to make the right choice and faffs around in the wilderness or makes a ridiculous decision like appointing Mourinho. This dull, secretive character who leads our club has become a disaster and needs to go.
Yes we have a pretty stadium and high prices. But we have no manager and a withering team short of young players. Levy has done a great job of putting off decent applicants and will certainly have frightened off top players wishing to join our club.
Yep, the saga goes on. So embarrassing. Watch out. Big Sam is without a job.

Come back Poch soon. We shall need you to get out of this almighty rut.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

WW….that may be why Levy is dragging it out, he may be hedging his bets that something might develop at PSG regarding the relationship between Poch and Leonardo that results in Poch leaving.

  • TK says:

    On Kane wanting to leave:

I’m increasingly worrying about whether Kane might have hit is peak and be ready to enter into his decline. Three reasons that this might be true: First, he’s clearly got weak ankles that increasingly are betraying him. Close enough the think weak ankles are his Achilles heal. Second, he’s only rested when his ankles have him sitting unable to play. The lad has been over used and knackered. This could be a terminal knackered. Third, his display in Europe looks horrible, although that might be down to the rest of the team providing nothing for him. But if the England players are responsible for his misery in Europe, are they worse than those playing with Harry at Spurs? Could the Spurs squad be superior to England’s? Something doesn’t add up there.

Anyway, we may have seen the best of Kane and are about to see a Kane in decline. I hope that’s not so, but I am beginning to fret about the possibility. And if this is true, then now might be the time to cash in on the value he’s perceived to have. Wait to sell and we’ll get less in return.

The real downside in exchanging our HK10 is that DL is not trustable to spend the money in an intelligent way to rebuild the team. He’s not. The track record from the Bale money shows that.

The more profound problem is Danial Levy, and he is not about to change his spots, and his favored spots are between a rock and a hard place.

The hard place abuts the rock and we have no spot of comfort between the two.

  • TK says:

Come back, jod. Tell us to whom you want Levy to sell the club.

  • TK says:

    TQ2,

If Levy is stretching it out in the hope of catching Poch when Leonardo and Poch have their final fall out, he may have to wait until a most inopportune time.

It’s hard to catch a falling star. They tend to fall when you least expect it and your eyes are turned to watch another passing fancy. Poch will be freed from PSG slavery only a moment after we have signed Christian Gross to a ten-year contract with a huge pay out scheme.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

TK….knowing our luck you are probably right! :- )

  • Niall D says:

Wonder if Levy is, waiting to see if he could lure Mancini out of international management, if he wins the Euros with Italy, he may be happy with that success and walk away (not) but there’s always hope.
If he were to get Spurs playing like that Italy side, we’d be right up there.
Maybe Paraticis Italian links could get him here. 🤔

  • Niall D says:

    BTW TQ
My Emoji buttons appear to be working on the site 😉😎😉
Wait until you see these 3 won’t come out now nor the last one
    😂

  • TQ2Spurs says:

    Hi Niall,

It worked fine, a number of others have been posting a variety of them as well. Are you using a mobile to post on here?

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Another insipid performance from England but at least Harry got a shot on target, the game pretty much passed him by other than that.

  • Niall D says:

    Hi TQ
I work on a tablet, but it just seems they’ve started working.
Re HK indeed at least he had a shot, but for me, still very much under par, he is of late very “trotty” round the pitch not exactly putting a shift in and it has been like this off and on since Christmas this season, where, for me, he going through the motions, don’t get me wrong he still has a great eye for goal, but I’m much with HT here, I think he is just on the downward cusp, I would use the money from HK for a rebuild of our team.
Good result for England as a neutral, feking terrible performance.
    Sorry for the Scots tonite.

  • TK says:

My feeling has been for a while that HK10’s peaked and will begin declining bit by bit soon. Never looked quite the same after the last ankle knock. My problem isn’t selling him, it’s a reaslistic fear based on history that money from a big sale goes a-wasting.
