With a report earlier in the week linking Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino with a move for highly rated Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke, it certainly got tongues wagging amongst the fanbase on social media and elsewhere.
To save overly repeating the report, I’ll simply copy it in.
Report Claims Spurs Have Made A £10million Offer For Championship Starlet
Although the talented 18-year-old winger has only made five starting appearances for the Elland Road outfit in the campaign of 2018/19, he has been heavily involved in their first team, making 20 substitute showings, returning two goals and two assists.
He could well have received greater game time had he not picked up a virus earlier in the season and collapsed in the dugout during a game against Middlesbrough, as that saw him lose momentum as they rightly took their time to reintroduce him.
Ahead of signing his first professional deal with Leeds, Manchester City were heavily in for him but he didn’t take the bait – presumably focusing on game time and a pathway through rather than wages.
All considered, given Poch’s ability to develop and blood youth, a move to Spurs does make sense and most fans were understandably delighted with the speculation.
Better than our last one.
