According to a report from Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet via Sport Witness, Tottenham are ‘certain‘ to move for want-away Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the summer but claim he won’t come cheap – with the south coast club demanding no less than Β£35 million.Β
Hojbjerg, who has been a mainstay for Southampton this season in their bid to avoid relegation, making 27 Premier League starts, is currently linked with a move away following his refusal to sign a contract extension.
As a result, the Dane has been stripped of his captaincy, with Spurs apparently set to take advantage of his situation at St Mary’s and make an offer.
However, as per the Athletic, our club has had to borrow Β£175 million from the Bank of England in order to offset revenue losses – putting into question Daniel Levy’s ability to compete in the transfer market.
Regardless, some Spurs flocked to Twitter and debated the merit of Hojbjerg as a signing – find all of their best comments down below.
Would be a great signing

Another joke. 1 not to the standard that is required and 2 why are we only singing midfielders! Again you have to question the clubs ability

If he wants to play at a higher level, why on earth is he interested in coming to us?

I just wonder if there aren’t bigger priority signings needed first such as a striker and centre back?
