Daniel Levy ‘willing to sell’ 24-year-old who has a ‘wish to leave’ Tottenham

According to the Telegraph, Daniel Levy is ‘willing to take a £5m hit to sell’ Vincent Janssen in January. The 24-year-old has a ‘wish to leave’ Tottenham and reportedly has interest from clubs in the Chinese Super League and MLS.

Janssen has spent the majority of the season sidelined with a foot injury, but he doesn’t look likely to feature upon his return. Mauricio Pochettino has no plans to play the Dutch international and wants to cash in on his signature.

With Levy happy to take a financial hit to offload Janssen, a move should be on the cards in the coming days. Burnley have been linked with the centre-forward, but no deal has materialised yet.

Since joining Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar in 2016, Janssen has scored six goals in 39 games in all competitions. He spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and hasn’t made an appearance for Spurs since August 20, 2017.

Janssen was signed to provide backup to Harry Kane, but he struggled for form immediately upon his arrival and found himself behind Fernando Llorente, who joined in 2017. Both players could be on the move in January or next summer.
