It would appear that Vincent Janssen is ready to battle to achieve his dream move to Tottenham.

Supposedly AZ Alkmaar have rejected a ?17m bid and are demanding a fee of ?20m for the 22 year old striker, which the player feels is unreasonable, though apparently AZ are yet to make it known to the player what feel they want.

Speaking of the situation Janssen said:”I trust AZ will talk to Spurs. If AZ do not, despite the offered amount, and Spurs drop out, then that is a blow to me.
“I`m not one to create war quickly, but how I react, I do not know. I assume that AZ realises that a transfer for everyone is the best.

“AZ are blocking my dream transfer and that makes me incredibly disappointed.”

Now a player wanting a move and ultimately getting it, isn`t guaranteed, whilst we also face the potential of another big fish swooping in and agreeing a deal, which also is attractive to the player.

Its easy for people to just say that Spurs should spend the money, but we also have to realise that we need to spend wisely and with the stadium build, do now that that odd 3 million to throw around.

Its heartening to hear the player talk positively about moving to Spurs and when we consider that he has already been to visit the club in London and therefore you hope we are now his first choice, any negotiations could be sorted swiftly once a fee can be agreed.

Having Vincent and other new signings sorted before or at least early in pre season is always advantageous for a manager and player, so lets hope that if Vincent if the choice of Poch, we can do a deal quickly and without fuss or Chelsea trying to steal him…
