Tottenham have had a season to forget. We have been knocked out of every cup competition at an early stage and our bid to finish in the top four never really got started – with Spurs currently lying seven points off fourth place.
Even the likes of Sheffield United and Wolves have arguably outperformed us if you look at the league table, but that doesn’t mean that there are no positives to come from this campaign.
The emergence of young talent like Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp is good news, particularly as Jose Mourinho looks likely to give the latter an increased role in the team when football returns.
Should Skipp have a first-team role next season?
Yes
No
Skipp may have only featured eight times this year but his manager seems to rate him, which is evidenced by the fact the club plan to offer him a long-term contract.
The 19-year-old could, therefore, follow in the footsteps of fellow midfielder Harry Winks, who has since become an England international since breaking through at the Tottenham Stadium.
Some Spurs supporters even feel that Skipp is better than his teammate, and there have been multiple plaudits sent his way in response to this news.
Great news, he brings so much more to the team than Winks.

I really rate Skippy, but more importantly José, and before him Pochettino, both think he’s got something special about him. Two very good judges of a player.

Good player reminds me a bit of Scott Parker

Great lad. Would Be lovely to see him, Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso in the same team. All fully fit, all firing. Could be lethal 💪🏼 #COYS

I believe Skippy will grow into “no holds barred” DM, who will kick his Granny rather than let the opposition past. COYS 4 ever
I like Skipp alot but I fail to see how he’ll be guaranteed a starting spot when there is already a glut of 1st team midfield talent at the club. For me Tottenham’s focus has to be about getting Ndombele back to his fighting best as this guy is a major talent that could be massive for Spurs if handled right!
