Juventus will attempt to beat us to the signing of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, according to Premium Sport HD.

The Italian TV station say the Serie A champions are very much interested in the Frenchman.

Fans on Twitter reacted to Juve’s interest:

The Daily Mail have suggested that United may be willing to offload the 22-year-old this summer but they will only sell to a foreign club. That would suggest Juventus would have the edge over us.

However, it has also been reported by the same newspaper that Jose Mourinho’s side would look to recoup as a much of the £58m they paid for the France international as possible.

Such a figure would likely rule the Serie A side out of the running. Even after saying all that though, there seems to be some doubt over United’s willingness to sell with the Manchester Evening News contradicting these claims a couple of weeks ago by saying that Martial was not for sale. We’ll just have to see how things pan out.

  • Need to look for alternatives – doubt Utd would sell to a CL rival. Might aswell look at testing Fulham’s resolve for Sessegnon (offer similar money around the £50m mark) plus he’s home-grown and would fit in nicely with the England contingent and the family feel of the club.
