Spurs Among Three Clubs Interested In Bargain Portuguese International

Sporting Lisbon winger Gelson Martins is a target for the club, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese publication reports that Arsenal and Benfica are also interested in the 23-year-old, who could be available on a free transfer following the player’s request to break his contract.

Sporting’s squad were the subject of a training ground attack by a gang of 50 supporters last month, and many of the team are now asking to leave.

Manager Jorge Jesus has already quit the club, while Sky Sports are reporting that Martins and team-mates Bruno Fernandes and William Carvalho are all seeking a way out.

We are reportedly in the market to sign a wide attacker with Anthony Martial and Wilfried Zaha both having been linked with a move to us.

Martins would likely be another prime candidate after scoring 13 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 matches for Sporting last season. It remains to be seen whether the Portuguese international will be released from his current deal that expires in 2022.
