Sunday afternoon saw Tottenham Hotspur’s new White Hart Lane Stadium put to the test as we welcomed Southampton’s Under 18 side to the ground for the first test event.
With plenty of delays and disappointment for fans given our longer than expected stay at Wembley Stadium as the rebuild hit a couple of unexpected issues, it’s been full steam ahead for the last few weeks as a first team return to hallowed soil nears.
The first test event was another welcomed step and fans were in store for treats both off and on the pitch. It was a day of first’s and J’Neil Bennett walked away with first goal at the ground. Harvey White secured first penalty scored and Dilan Markanday took first third goal scored, or first goal scored in the 87th minute.
With some describing the new ground as spaceship-like, some fans have already got their proverbial ‘Harry Potter’ on when it came to the magic beer on display and it’s fair to say it tickled me. I know it goes back to December but I’ve only just spotted it and I can only imagine reactions were similar earlier today.
