Spurs Word On The Tweet

“Waste of time”, “Should aim higher” – Some Spurs fans flock to discuss transfer “worry”

|

According to an update courtesy of fcinternews.it, Spurs are in the running to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic this summer following Bayern Munich’s uncertainty over a loan-to-permanent deal – but the move will entirely depend on Tottenham’s success in qualifying for Europe.

As per this report, manager Jose Mourinho has been a long-time admirer of Perisic ever since the manager’s stint at Manchester United – but his former club would not permit a swoop for the Croatia international.

Should Spurs sign Perisic?

Yes, get the deal done

No, not what we need

Now, with the 31-year-old attacker facing limbo following Bayern’s stance on a permanent fee, Mourinho could have a chance to sign him.

However, given Spurs’ current financial situation, our European qualifying success very much dictates whether or not we will in fact make a swoop.

Flocking to the update, some Lilywhites have voiced concern and other opinions, with one fan claiming that targeting players close to their twilight years is a ‘worry‘.

We have dropped off so much in 12 months it’s pretty demoralising. A billionaire owner that’s not interested in spending one pence of his own cash in making us a genuine force while the irks of Chelsea are buying quality in players we should be targeting. Difficult times ahead

Ian DaKnow – You do understand that under FFP rules an owner isn’t allowed to pump money into a club ? Unless its Man City of course and even they were taken to court eventually. So unless you have some ingenious way around FFP its pretty stupid to moan about an owner not breaking the rules and getting us banned from Europe.

Yeh I understand the FFP rules but we are the seventh richest club in world football? What my initial complaint really is about Is that enic haven’t really ever pushed us on as a trophy winning club. Are you happy with one league cup in 12 years with some of the talent that’s been at our disposal? What’s the point of having amazing faculties Etc without having a real squad and team capable of finally winning us the league? I’ve supported the club season ticket for half of it over 40 years and it’s frustrating..

Pt2..I’ve never known a board and owner split the fan base as much as ours. I’ve never seen my club win the league in my lifetime! It’s bloody annoying/frustrating etc. They could’ve spent a few quid after the season we were beaten to the league by Leicester and they chose not to? Come on surely you can’t have been happy with that Jod??
