As per BBC Sport, Jan Vertonghen is set to be available this evening against his former side Ajax as we look to overturn a one-goal deficit in the Dutch giants’ own back yard.
The defender suffered a sickening-looking blow to the head last week against the men from Amsterdam and had to come off, with him looking very groggy indeed.
However, tests have shown since that he did not suffer concussion and he could now play with a protective mask on as we go about trying to reach the final in Madrid.
It should, then, be a good game and with the Belgian defender potentially back in the side, our chances have, of course, increased considerably.
It will be tough, for sure, as Ajax are clearly a very good team at the moment but so are we, and if we can show our quality and be stout in defence we have a chance.
