Spurs Word On The Tweet

“Daniel Levy dream”, “This is a joke”, “Wow” – Lots of Spurs fans fuming as report emerges

Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to social media as the club appears to be honing in on their first signing of the summer.

According to Football Insider, Wigan teenager Alfie Devine underwent a medical in north London on Friday after Spurs reached an agreement with the financially troubled Championship outfit.

It’s claimed that the fee involved is “significant” and the young talent will start live in the under-23 setup next season.

However, the news hasn’t gone down well with the Spurs faithful at all. Some were hardly surprised given the fact that chairman Daniel Levy loves a bargain at a cheap price whilst others likened him to rarely-seen winger Jack Clarke, who they brought last summer and have since loaned out twice.

Is Levy wise to invest in the youth setup?

Absolutely, one for the future

No way, we need improvements

Just last month, the 15-year-old signed a new long-term deal at the DW Stadium with academy manager Gregor Rioch waxing lyrical about the England under-16 international, he said:

“Alfie is one of the best players I have worked with; he has a mature head on young shoulders.”

Yet despite this, further fans believe it is a waste of time and money and that it was a joke.

Here’s the best of the reaction…
