According to a report from the Telegraph, Everton have launched an £18 million bid to sign Tottenham target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – with the two clubs now reportedly set to battle it out for the Dane.
Indeed, also reported in the Guardian, Spurs are interested in a swap deal to sign the 24-year-old – offering Kyle Walker-Peters in exchange to bring down his lofty £35 million price tag.
It’s claimed that chairman Daniel Levy and manager Jose Mourinho could see Hojbjerg as a deep-lying defensive midfielder who can allow club record signing Tanguy Ndombele more freedom to roam around midfield.
However, with the Toffees now entering the race for his signature, Tottenham may have a battle on their hands if they wish to acquire the midfielder.
Flocking to this update, plenty of Lilywhites have voiced their opinions – claiming that Everton’s reported interest could ‘upset Levy‘.
