A recent tweet from Football.London reporter Alasdair Gold has left many Tottenham Hotspur fans fuming this week.
The Spurs squad played an 11 vs 11 match over the weekend but rumours started to circulate social media over the absence of playmaker Giovani Lo Celso.
Who will have a better Spurs career?
Giovani Lo Celso
Tanguy Ndombele
Gold hinted that the Argentine midfielder was indeed absent and suggested that divisive figure Tanguy Ndombele could be the player to step up and play the number ten role when football resumes in a little over a weeks time.
Lo Celso’s injury has angered many in north London…
Apologise for ruining my day

That’s ridiculous! 3 months of no football and your top playmaker is crocked?
— Graham Wills (@graham_wills) June 7, 2020
Amazing. Just seems like yesterday we had a fit squad

I’m gonna be the only one that’s probably brave enough to say this but GLC fast becoming an injury concern and once again it’s the hip that’s a huge worry for me

Would be gutted if true, Gio could be the difference for top 4.

Lo celso injured, your having a laugh unbelievable 😭😭😭

NOOOOOOOOOOO
— Danny Werman (@dwerms) June 7, 2020
This is impossible…can’t possibly be true…can it?
— Bruno Cook (@bruski1958) June 8, 2020
If that’s true it’s really bad news. Lo Celso was starting to look very impressive with his driving forward from midfield. Ndombele on the other hand has a lot to prove. He has never looked capable of lasting anywhere near 90 minutes since arriving at the club #THFC

The 24-year-old made his loan move permanent during the January transfer window following the departure of Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan, and has become a regular under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
Lo Celso has featured in 28 matches in all competitions but has only provided two goals and one assist, via Transfermarkt.
That being said, much of the Spurs faithful believe the attacking midfielder has been one of the only shining lights of the season, especially in the way he fights for the badge.
So losing him for however long with football only just coming back is clearly a major setback to their chances of making the top four, which is why many have taken fire at the club’s medical team.
The likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn have all suffered injuries since the turn of the year.
We really need a better medical evaluation team

The absolute state of our fitness and conditioning methods. Woeful

Incredible how we can lose a key player injured during lockdown. When the game returns fair enough there will be injured players, but not before it. We are a sham.
— Gareth McCarter (@g2mcc) June 7, 2020
Honestly someone needs to look at our medical staff. Shambles https://t.co/mn8jeA82fn

There were even bold comparisons made to Erik Lamela, who is often dubbed the sicknote of this side.
The fellow Argentine has been absent from the matchday squad 15 times this campaign.
Can’t believe he injured again Another Lamela ⚽️👎

Another seemingly healthy player who joins us and becomes a sick note https://t.co/rfh25LhrXr

Although the news is yet to be officially confirmed, it’s not a good look for us if Lo Celso is out injured. Mourinho’s men sit some seven points adrift of the top four and the former Betis man is our only out-and-out number ten.
AND in other news, Spurs colossus tipped to exit as four clubs join the queue…
