“Practically a fact” – Spurs colossus tipped to exit as four clubs join queue

|

According to a report from Argentine news outlet El Dia, Spurs defender Juan Foyth is dead set to leave north London – with his impending exit looking ‘practically a fact‘ as four clubs join the queue for his signature.

Foyth, who has started just one Premier League game all season, is seemingly a few steps down the pecking order compared to the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Kyle Walker-Peters – and the player’s representatives are now ‘analysing offers‘ for a potential move away.

Should Spurs let Juan Foyth go?

Yes, we have Tanganga

No, he could still prove his worth

Despite totalling 12 outings during his full debut league campaign in 2018/2019 under ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino, he has not been given the same chances to impress under Spurs’ new coach – with four clubs now seemingly in the running to offer him a way out.

Indeed, as per El Dia, Barcelona, Leeds United and two unnamed Serie A clubs have been touted with an interest in acquiring the 22-year-old who can play both as a centre-half and in the full-back area.

The 6ft 1 colossus, at least going by his stats, can impress when given the opportunity – making more tackles on average than any other Spurs player last campaign according to WhoScored.

Only Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld totalled more clearances in the league than Foyth over Pochettino’s last season at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, with his ability debatably being clear for all to see.

However, due to his lack of opportunity under Jose Mourinho, Foyth may now be set for the exit door.

Whether or not we will regret letting the player go is a different story, but judging by his credentials, Foyth could go on to become a solid addition for any side.
