Tottenham lead race for £36m-valued Levy target – Report

|

According to an exclusive report from French media outlet le10sport, Tottenham appear as the front runners to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves – with manager Jose Mourinho apparently becoming a big fan of the player.

Neves, starting 23 Premier League matches under Nuno Espirito Santo this campaign, has debatably been one of Wolves’ star players as they chase European qualification for the second season running.

Should Spurs sign Neves?

Yes, make the deal happen

No, we have enough central midfielders

The Portuguese international, according to WhoScored, has played more long balls in midfield than any Spurs player this season – potentially highlighting his status as a creative midfield enforcer who can spray passes in his preferred position in front of the back four.

This could potentially provide even more service to star striker Harry Kane, with Mourinho apparently becoming an admirer of the 23-year-old as he searches for more steel in the middle of the park.

As well as dictating play with his range of long passing, Neves averages 1.6 tackles per game, the same number as Giovani Lo Celso in midfield, whilst also making more Premier League interceptions than any Spurs player over the 2019/2020 season.

Valued at £36 million by Transfermarkt, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may well have Neves on his radar for next season according to le10sport, with the Lilywhites emerging as ‘preferred‘ front runners for his signature.

le10sport also claim that Neves has some ‘prestigious‘ unnamed suitors on the market, but Spurs and Mourinho remain ahead of the competition.

Given his performances this campaign, it’s no surprise the player ‘appeals‘ to our manager, but whether or not we land him in time for next season is a different matter.

He maybe Valued at £36 million by Transfermarkt, but it’s irrelevant as Wolves value him upwards of £100+million. Spurs haven’t got two pennies to rub together, nevermind a bid for an unavailable contracted player happy at a club that have no need or wish to sell. Good luck that but Wolves will not and have not sold to premier league rivals, its a very simple strategy that doesnt appear to have sunk in yet for the msm and the so called big six. Zero first team players sold to premier league rivals over the last few years should really tell you what you need to know

well said Mr Majika, if Spurs or anyone think they can steal our players on the cheap they need to wake up and smell the coffee. The player is ours and is worth what w say we want for him its that simple and it way more than £36 M. Who are these websites who make valuations ? based on what ?

News for all so called “Big clubs” suitors…….Neves, Jiminez and Traore are NOT for sale…..and certainly not on the cheap….we don’t need your money anymore we have plenty of our won thanks. Put up or shut up.

We need a right back, centre back and another striker, so Levy wants to spend all we have on another midfielder. You couldn’t make it up.
