Spurs Word On The Tweet

“Grealish all over again”, “Here we go” – Lots of Spurs fans react over transfer update

Lots of Tottenham Hotspur supporters have flocked to a fresh update on one of the club’s reported summer transfer targets.

According to Duncan Castles, Spurs are one of three teams to have submitted an offer of “cash plus players” to Southampton for midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

He added: “My information is that Jose Mourinho likes Hojbjerg and he sees him as a player obviously with substantial Premier League experience who he can bring into the centre of his midfield, can play a couple of positions in midfield at a relatively low cost, and solves some of the problems he sees in that squad.”

The Evening Standard previously claimed that the Saints would only be willing to sell him for £35m, which appears to be well out of Daniel Levy’s budget as they too have suggested that Mourinho will be left with free agents and swap deals only.

Do Spurs need Hojbjerg?

Yes, absolutely

No, there's better

Not another CM!

Castles also states that Spurs’ offer is unsatisfactory, which has led to many reacting to the news on social media.

One supporter claimed that it was another Jack Grealish scenario, after losing out on the Villa skipper back in 2018 whilst others started to ponder who the club might offer in return.

The north Londoners do currently have right-back Kyle Walker-Peters on loan at St Mary’s Stadium.
