After numerous delays and disappointment when it came to the official opening date of Tottenham Hotspur’s rebuilt White Hart Lane Stadium this season, all fans knew the return home was edging ever nearer given the progress updates and confirmation of test events.
On Sunday afternoon the club took the momentous step to formally confirm the official opening date and our first Premier League game back on home soil – Crystal Palace on Wednesday, April 3.
It’s been a long time coming, longer than many Spurs fans expected and far longer than Chairman Daniel Levy had originally anticipated as well, but projects of this size rarely go to plan. More details should be announced later today.
We can confirm that the first @premierleague match in our new stadium will be against Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3 April.#SpursNewStadium ⚪ #COYS

With claims that the new Stadium would be sponsored by Nike being quickly denied by the club earlier this month, at the March 12th Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust meeting, Levy stated that we hadn’t even been in discussions with the company and that no talks were held, as simply put ‘sponsoring stadiums is not what Nike do as a business.’
Hallelujah!
