Spurs Word On The Tweet

“Time For A New Definition” – Spurs Should Revisit Dictionary Corner

|

Tottenham Hotspur went into Wednesday evening’s Champions League Semi-Final second leg against Ajax with good optimism of turning the tie around.

Having trailed to a single goal from White Hart Lane end of the affair, our second half showing and the chances we created (yet failed to take) had plenty believing we could get back into this but by the 45th minute, the hosts had scored twice and most fans had their spirit broken.

Whatever happened in the dressing room, well, it was a different Spurs in the second half (again) and by the hour mark Lucas Moura had his brace and we’d got some fire in our belly. Six minutes into stoppage-time it was Ajax hearts that were broken, as Moura completed his hattrick to send us through to the Final against Liverpool.

With the word Spursy coming back into play in recent weeks given our performances and results, it does seem to have been adopted by both Manchester United and Arsenal as well but a quick-witted member of the National Football Museum’s social media team believes it’s time we adopted a new definition for ourselves.

Seems appropriate for today, for some reason.
