When Tottenham Hotspurs’ two-legged affair against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals was announced, former player Kyle Walker was quick to banter that “this would be fun”.
Plenty of fans read an ulterior meaning into his choice of words given the photo used was of a cheeky grin shall we say as simply assumed he probably meant a walk over, other fans saw the humour in it and appreciated he simply meant with so much riding on the matches, as a former player, he could expect the typical welcome back.
Whatever the true meaning, his foray on to social media wasn’t forgotten by one fan, and they took full delight in reminding him of his words, as they made a point about his own performance across the 90 minutes at the new White Hart Lane Stadium.

Walker still splits fans following his transfer to the Etihad, but that was the perfect riposte in my mind.
