According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham are not interested in signing Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho on a permanent deal and would only consider a loan move – prompting many supporters to fume over our allegedly ‘embarrassing‘ stance.
Coutinho, who has scored eight goals and assisted six others in 15 Bundesliga starts this season, on loan at Bayern Munich, will not be remaining in Bavaria despite his contributions when given the opportunity.
Is signing Coutinho on loan a good move?
Yes
No
As a result, Spurs have recently been linked with a swoop for the 27-year-old – but it can now be revealed by Football Insider that we may only consider a loan move.
The club are also apparently unwilling to cover all of his wages, which are estimated to be around £200,000-per-week.
Seemingly unhappy with the ‘pure Levy deal’, many Tottenham supporters have since taken to Twitter with their opinions on the rumour – with one fan claiming that it is ‘pathetic‘ the club would only be keen on a loan deal.

This is a pure Levy deal. Doubt Barca take the deal but we’ll see. Wonder why he’s been so poor lately. He was a killer in the Premier League

Pathetic and embarrassing from Levy as usual. A loan on partial wages…we’re not Brentford. If you don’t want him fine but don’t ask for a deal like this

Same old Levy. Never change…

Loan will be only possibility. We along with most clubs won’t spend anything.

Literally one of the most unattractive offers off all time there is no incentive for Barcelona to agree
