“I’m heartbroken” – A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans cannot believe the news that their captain Hugo Lloris will be out until 2020 after he suffered a dislocated elbow in his team’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Frenchman suffered a horrific fall and was stretchered off the field and taken straight to hospital.

Scans revealed that he had not suffered a fracture, and it was hoped he might recover quickly.

However, a further update was provided on Monday, and it was revealed that though he does not require surgery, Lloris will not be back in training until January at the earliest.

This latest news has not gone down well on Twitter with many Spurs fans.

  • Nobody wants to see any player gets serious injury and of course we all wish Hugo a speedy recovery But his form over the last 3 seasons has not been without some high profile gaffs in crucial games . There is only so long a team can keep accepting these type of mistakes . Liverpool and City both shipped out their error prone goalies in no time because they wanted to improve not standstill or go backwards which is what Tottenham Hotspur have been doing for 2 seasons now . Lloris ( and plenty of other players in the team) has now become a liability and Spurs need an upgrade or keep treading water and falling behind those those around them .

    • @Tony Borg… Wow, wishing for a player to sustain a serious injury.. What a wonderful human being you must be.. F#%& off

  • I wish Hugo a speedy recovery but he’s been somewhat of a liability for the past couple of seasons now with his erratic/error prone decision making and I can only surmise the reason he retains his position and captaincy in the team is his close relationship with Pochetttino. Time for him to be shipped out IMHO. As for the “This club is finished” headline, what ridiculous nonsense. I can only surmise that it’s penned by an idiot who is totally blind to the gaffs Lloris serves up almost every game in recent years. Time for him to go.
