This happens every so often since the advent of social media and the myriad of ways that individuals can now get a wider audience with a few clicks of a keyboard, and Tottenham Hotspur are certainly not alone in sending out an incredibly simple Tweet and having quick-witted fans turn it into what it was never originally meant to be.
That happened yesterday and concerned Eric Dier.

Part fluff, part rallying cry…but Dier drew the short straw for public relations work this week as he was absolutely the wrong player to send such a message given the criticisms that he’s come in for on social media – whether you believe fairly or unfairly – based on his individual showings in recent matches.
Yeah sweet but can you stop passing to the opposition please mate

But clearly not City, Watford or Liverpool

Give Wanyama a run of games. Get him used to playing again. Stronger DM and not mistake prone. And doesn’t lose the ball by trying things he can’t do.

It’s all well and good saying it how about proving it now, it seems the squad has its head down at the moment. COYS ????

Forgot to mention his sideways, backwards and misplaced passes

Haven't seen any of it yet this season ????

Sometimes you can probably see that kind of reaction coming, other times it takes you by surprise but it’s rarely pretty and it can often leave you scratching your head at the initial decision.
At least it was reasonably polite.
