Christian Eriksen has made it clear that he wants to leave Tottenham this summer, revealing in an interview that he’s keen for a new challenge. Real Madrid appear to be his ideal destination and the club most likely to sign him, but the two sides can’t yet agree on a price.
According to El Desmarque, Tottenham want £90m for Eriksen which Real are unwilling to pay. Los Blancos want to sign the £75k-per-week midfielder for £70m. As Eriksen will be out of contract in 2020 and able to leave for nothing, Spurs have to sell him this summer.
Daniel Levy may have to lower his demands if Real aren’t biting, and some supporters took to social media to reiterate that fact. They want Spurs to offer Eriksen out for less money so Real can buy him, and want to see the £70m going towards another summer signing – Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis.
£70m is a good price. Take it now because he’s gonna walk next season ????????

I would take the deal, sign Lo Celso, get Cabellos on loan and move on ✅

Eriksen has been a terrific servant for Tottenham since his 2013-move from Ajax, making 277 appearances in all competitions while contributing 152 goals, but the 27-year-old came under criticism in 2018/19 for his inconsistency. His patchy form may have been down to his head being turned by Real’s interest, and his latest admission has further soured his relationship with supporters.
As a result, they’re happy to see Eriksen go as long as his money helps to bring in a like-for-like replacement. Whether Spurs and Real can agree a deal remains to be seen, however.
