Recent report suggests Spurs are ready to take exciting policy into transfer window

|

The Premier League returns tonight but Spurs are not in action until Saturday lunchtime when we take on already relegated Huddersfield.

It should, in theory, be a chance for the Lilywhites to lay down a marker to the rest of the top four battlers but, of course, the game is played on grass not paper.

Another marker we might well be setting down, though, is one in relation to our spending in the summer as, according to a report, it looks as though we’re ready to kick it off.

Famously, we did nothing in the last summer window but now the stadium is moved into, it seems right that we start to add to the squad, and Super Haber is suggesting that Eljif Elmas is high on our list.

According to the report, we’ve made a bid of around £17.2m for the player and that would suggest an exciting transfer policy is being worked on.

It seems we might be looking to invest in the future with some of the better talents around Europe and, crucially, happy to spend the money that we’ve so often been reluctant to in the past.

We can still be wise with our spending, but it makes sense now to get the squad for now and the future sorted to excel in our new home.
