Aston Villa took one step closer to a Premier League return on Saturday afternoon as they secured a 2-1 Championship Play-Off advantage over rivals West Bromwich Albion in the Semi-Final affair and plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans were looking on, mainly because of long term target Jack Grealish.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with Spurs back in the summer transfer window but with their takeover, we missed the window to secure a deal and simply put, the speculation of a return this summer – especially if they don’t gain promotion – won’t go away. It was claimed recently that his new long term deal at Villa Park included a £60million release fee, but given how he’s performed in the second half of the year, that certainly hasn’t put these fans off and they want to see us pay it, particularly if Christian Eriksen does move on this summer with him also featuring heavily on the rumour mill.
Having provided the assist for their equaliser on the day, Grealish then won the penalty that gave them the win.
Really want to see Grealish at Spurs. Poch working with him would have him starting for England in no time. If Villa come up I doubt he leaves though. #thfc #AVFC

I really hope that #Villa don’t get promoted because Jack Grealish is a fantastic player and I’d love us to sign him. #THFC #Spurs

Jack Grealish is the perfect replacement for Eriksen should he leave this season. He’s much better physically as well. #COYS

Spurs need to go for Grealish imo, especially is AV don't go up. Proper little power house but with skill ????????. And imagine what his progress will be like under Poch!

Kind of hoping Aston Villa don’t gain promotion to the PL so we can sign #grealish
Too good for the championship and Poch could work wonders with him. #THFC— CA (@CoachingCA_1) May 11, 2019
