Pochettino “Proud” As We Take One More Point For The Year

|

Earlier this afternoon manager Mauricio Pochettino sent his patched up Tottenham Hotspur squad out to face Everton in the final Premier League clash of the 2018/19 campaign.

With a Champions League final booked against Liverpool, our top four spot for the year was almost guaranteed, but completely in our hands and after all the injuries and no signings over the summer, it’s been a rollercoaster of a year.

It wasn’t a great final day, but in taking a 2-2 draw we got the point we needed to mathematically secure our top four spot for the year, and now the main focus will be on fully recovering and recuperating ahead of one last big effort as we travel to Madrid to face Liverpool in the Champions League Final.

Whatever happens now, happens – we’ve coped with everything thrown at us so look forward with optimism.

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, Poch said of our efforts on the day.

“I want to congratulate my players, they are superheroes. I feel so proud but we have not finished our season. We have three weeks to prepare for the final, which will be one of the most important games in our history. The characteristic of this season is never giving up. The team’s spirit has been fantastic.”
