Opinion: Tottenham would be stupid not to snap up £54m man in January as per reports

|

The world of football is a fast-moving one, and often you see club’s miss out on signing players and costing themselves in the long-run. However, with Tottenham, after missing out on signing a key midfield man over the course of the summer, there are reports claiming a January deal could happen.

The man in question isn’t Paulo Dybala, despite the heavy speculation over summer that eventually ended in disappointment for the Lilywhites, Sky Sports, instead, we’re referring to Portugal and Sporting CP star, Bruno Fernandes.

The latest reports that have linked Fernandes with a mid-season Tottenham switch have come from A Bola, and they claim that the Lilywhites are keeping a very close eye on the 25-year-old attacking midfielder – who has been in wonderful form in the Portuguese top flight this season.

So far, the Sporting man has managed to bag himself an incredible four goals and four assists in just six games so far this season, as per Transfermarkt, and with a valuation of £54m, he certainly is the real and one that the Lilywhites should not hesitate in moving for.

Christian Eriksen’s head is already in Madrid, and should he make the move to the Spanish capital in January, which AS claim is a possibility, the Lilywhites will need to fill the void in the squad, and Bruno Fernandes is a player who is more than capable of doing just that.

The attacking midfield man’s numbers are simply outstanding. Looking via WhoScored, this season in his domestic league Fernandes has been averaging 3.2 shots, 3.5 key passes, 1.7 dribbles per game going forward, as well as piling in with 1.5 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game too, which would make him a tenacious yet creative machine in the final third of the Tottenham midfield.
