Opinion: Giving our predictions for Tottenham’s festive fixtures in the Premier League

|

The next month or so is going to be hectic for Tottenham Hotspur fans, and whilst the games will come thick and fast, the Lilywhites will still be expected to come through these games with a lot of points now they’ve got Jose Mourinho at the helm and some wins under their belts.

Those next six games feature a mix of three home games and three away days, and they’ve been well summed up by Tottenham fan account Last Word On Spurs on Twitter. However, we’ll list them for you here:

  • Wolves (A) 15th December
  • Chelsea (H) 22nd December
  • Brighton (H) 26th December
  • Norwich (A) 28th December
  • Southampton (A) 1st January
  • Liverpool (H) 11th January

On paper, it’s easy to look at these games and think that Norwich and Southampton away, for example, ay be an easy three points, but over the Christmas period, injuries will be a real worry considering the lack of recovery time between games, and it’s never an easy month to navigate.

However, with the Lilywhites pushing for a spot in the top four, getting some points on the board will be crucial, especially when Jose welcomes his former club Chelsea to the brand new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seeing as the Stamford Bridge side are currently occupying 4th spot.

In the headline, is states we’ll be giving our prediction on how many points the Lilywhites should be picking up over the next month as they take on six Premier League games, and a good base point to aim for would be 12, with any more than that a bonus.

Can Mourinho one day win us a Premier League title?

Absolutely, he's a winner

No way, we're still Tottenham

The two home games against Chelsea and Brighton have to be targetted as wins, whilst getting a couple of draws and a win against Southampton, Norwich and Wolves on the road is something to aim for, that would bring 11 points, and would give Mourinho and co needing a point at home to Liverpool to reach our 12 point target.
