Since Mourinho took charge of Spurs last month, he has started defensive midfielder Eric Dier on three occasions in his first five matches and it seems as though he has faith in the England international to shield the back four.
Dier seems to be flourishing under Mourinho and has shown glimpses of his best form, which he demonstrated before a difficult year suffering from injuries and illness before returning to the Spurs squad in October.
Although he may not have hit top form since his return, fans seem to be pleased with Dier’s recent contributions to Spurs’ turn around in form.

Despite the positives, some have been pinpointing areas where the 25-year-old needs to improve if he is to retain his place in the starting 11.
Eric Dier’s been better than most matches we have seen him in recently. One issue that remains is his lack of control with the ball, there were a few sloppy giveaways. That said Jose should 100% stick with him and let him play into form, Dier will be a huge part of Jose’s Spurs.

It seems as though Dier is going through a revival under Mourinho and, all though he’s not playing perfectly, some fans are pleased with how he seems to be quietly doing his job in front of the defence to help the team.
