The rivalry between Tottenham and Arsenal goes back decades, yet at present, there’s only one winner. With the Lilywhites still sitting pretty in third place in the Premier League, it’s fair to say that the Gunners have a lot of catching up to do if they want to get back to their previous level.
Unfortunately for them, they missed an opportunity to get back there on Wednesday evening, with Wolves dominating the Gunners and winning 3-1 against Unai Emery’s men. It was a fantastic performance from Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, and it’s made Arsenal’s task of finishing in the top four far more difficult.

The irony of the quote in the context of Arsenal’s performance against Wolves wasn’t lost on Spurs fans, with plenty taking to Twitter to praise the timing of their team’s post. The joke being, of course, that Arsenal didn’t earn the opportunity that they could have had if they had beaten Wolves.
Of course, this likely wasn’t intentional from the club, but Tottenham fans will never miss a chance to laugh at their rivals…
