Spurs man makes admission that might be of some concern

|

The fixtures keep on coming for Spurs with the Champions League semi-finals taking off next week as well as another Premier League game this weekend.

We need to think about that first, too, as the top four race is far from won at the moment and West Ham are bound to be keen on taking us on in what is always their cup final.

Tiredness could be an issue at this point of the season, then, and it looks as though Jan Vertonghen, worryingly, has suggested that it is setting in for the squad right now.

Speaking via Football.London, he said:

“The Premier League is so tough, both cup ties and teams you play with your country. It all adds up and it’s starting to show. It is mind over body. We struggled all season a bit with some injuries. Hopefully, we can get a couple of guys back soon.”

He feels as though the tiredness is starting to show, then, and so hopefully we can just battle through it and get ourselves into the top four as soon as possible and then make the final.

Vertonghen is a good player without doubt, and I have no qualms in his mental strength being enough to see him through any physical problems.
