Spurs confirmed on their official website that the Netherlands international has joined the club on and five-and-a-half-year contract, with Bergwijn taking Eriksen’s vacant no. 23 shirt just over 24 hours after the Danish international’s move to Inter Milan was confirmed by Tottenham.

Bergwijn becomes Tottenham’s second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Gedson Fernandes from Benfica, and plenty of Spurs fans on social media were absolutely buzzing that the 22-year-old was confirmed as a Lilywhite this morning.
