Let’s Address “The Glass Half Empty Trend” At Spurs – Reasons To Be Positive As We Look To The Run In

|

Tottenham Hotspur fans are an opinionated bunch, in many ways we’re no different from other clubs on that score, but after a Premier League wobble of late, plenty are getting their Nostradamus on and guaranteeing we’ve blown 2018/19.

Others, not so much, and they appreciate we’ve now had the wobble that others had earlier in the season, so the top flight table is now more reflective of reality and it’s not a case that we blew a points advantage, the season has simply levelled itself up.

Vital Spurs forum member Spesh-Spur has admirably summed up the latter point in a recent post and I thought it deserving of a wider audience. The full thread can be read on our Vital Spurs Forum.

Especially given later this evening we return to home soil.

Now as much as I understand this is a forum and a place for opinion and discussion, I often read through comments, especially after a defeat like Sunday and wonder whether I’m on a different page?

Yes, Spurs as a club have a tendency to cock things up (no pun intended) and we are accustomed to missing out when the going gets tough, but it seems there are very few, myself and NRD to name two that despite what’s thrown at us supporters, try to be balanced and if not a little more optimistic than a lot of views here.

Can we not collectively pull together and channel all this frustration into positivity going into our new stadium tomorrow night for the first time!?

Being realistic, I was looking at the remaining fixtures and see the following 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th potential banana skins where points could be dropped:

WEEK 32:
WOLV – MAN U (possible banana) (ED – Man U lost)
SPURS – CPAL

WEEK 33:
EVE – ARS (possible banana)
CHEL – WEST H (possible banana)

WEEK 34:
SPURS – HUDD
MAN U – WEST H
LIV – CHEL (possible banana) – Liv win would be massive for us

WEEK 35:
CITY – SPURS (I have this down as a loss)
WOLV – ARSE
MAN U – CITY (possible banana) – City win would be massive for us

WEEK 36:
SPURS – WEST H (we can’t let them win on our new turf!)
MANU – CHEL (possible banana) – A draw here would be a result for us
LEIC – ARSE (possible banana)

WEEK 37:
BMTH – SPURS
ARSE – BRIGHTON
CHEL – WATFORD
HUDD – MAN U
Predicting obvious wins here but you never know..?

WEEK 38:
BURNLEY – ARSE (possible banana)
MAN UTD – CARDIFF
LEIC – CHELSEA (possible banana)
SPURS – EVE

You see, plenty to feel positive about looking at the above scenarios!

The post received massive support on the forum for the outlook, I obviously agree as I’ve put it on the front page, so what says everyone else.

Glass half full taking the positives?
Glass half empty with valid concerns?

Or moaning for the sake of it?
