“I’ll Take That” – There Won’t Be A Spurs Fan Who Disagrees With Players Sunday Assessment

Following an unfortunate clash of heads in Tuesday evening’s disappointing Champions League Semi-Final first leg tie with Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur centre-half Jan Vertonghen was rightly given some time to recuperate and ensure he was fine after the clash.

That did mean he was another injury complication for the penultimate Premier League clash of the 2018/19 campaign as we faced Bournemouth at Dean Court, and we all know how Saturday went for us.

Having blown the battle for the top four wide open with our defeat, it really didn’t matter if you’re a glass half full or half empty fan – there was an element of terror in Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal’s fixtures on Sunday.

A bad weekend got worse in the early kickoff as Chelsea took victory, but as the afternoon progressed the need for squeaky bums dissipated.

Manchester United found themselves held to a 1-1 draw by already relegated Huddersfield Town, and former player Chris Hughton’s Brighton side also did us a favour and held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw.

Chelsea take their place in the top four. United are in the Europa League and Arsenal need an eight goal swing on the last day to take our spot.

Vertonghen may have been given some time off, but he was using it wisely and following Sunday’s action.

Yes you will Jan, we all will!
