Explained – Out Of Character Son Reaction Now Makes Sense – Will The FA Act

|

Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Dean Court to face Bournemouth in Saturday’s early Premier League kickoff proved to be a disappointing day on a few levels.

With the opportunity there to secure our Champions League spot for the campaign of 2019/20, Spurs had the chances in the opening 45 minutes as we largely dominated but then the game turned against us. Son Heung-Min uncharacteristically lashed out on Lerma and saw a straight red card, as did halftime substitute Juan Foyth to leave us down to nine men for over 40 minutes.

Despite our disadvantage and Bournemouth understandably taking charge of the game, we looked like we might hold on for a point but a stoppage-time effort from Ake saw us travel back with nothing and not only is the battle for the top four now wide open (albeit still in our hands at this point), the extra efforts will have done nothing for next midweek’s clash with Ajax either.

With plenty wondering why Son lost his head, some interesting footage probably explains it and I guess we all have our own thoughts here – question is, will the Football Association act.

It won’t change the game and it doesn’t excuse Son for his reaction either, but it does maybe provide some context.
