Juan Foyth has admitted to doing his own personal research ahead of matches and Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to his dedication.

The Argentina international has revealed he has been using the Wyscout app to analyse his upcoming opponents ahead of his next fixture to try and learn as much as he can and be best prepared.

Twitter account Hotspur Related have quoted the young defender on his usage of the data and have relayed all the information in a thread of tweets.

He said: “I downloaded an application to the cell phone, and always before the games, I start to see, review and investigate the forwards that I have to face. It is an application called Wyscout, it was passed to me by my representative, you have to pay to access the content, payment exclusively to analyse the rivals, You put the name of a player and there all the information appears, his best moves. I try to analyse who I have to face, their characteristics.”

Foyth had a mixed season for Tottenham, however, there were clear signs that he was starting to develop into an exciting player as Mauricio Pochettino offered him more minutes on the pitch. He is starting to look like a right-back possibility for us in the future following a standout display in the game against Manchester City  – although he does have the tendency to have horror shows at times, with the performances against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth sticking out like a sore thumb.

However, those poor showings do not appear to have phased fans on Twitter as they have reacted to delight regarding his dedication to the game and the efforts he has gone to learn about his upcoming opponents.

Many of them reacted in a positive fashion, with many stating that he would be their ‘future captain’, whilst another called him a ‘king’.

Here are just some of their views…
