Over the weekend Tottenham Hotspur Academy product Harry Winks conducted an interview with the Official Site where he discussed the campaign of 2018/19, describing it as his ‘best season so far’ at Spurs.

With over 100 appearances to his name now, fans know injury has held his development back but the England international certainly kicked on last year in the eyes of many and the 23-year-old made a passing comment that he felt he’d now become an ‘important player’ for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Understandably he’s more than pleased with that and so were fans who took to social media to react to the interview.

Given his age, Winks has plenty of development left to do and it’s good to hear him acknowledge that as we prepare for the coming 2019/20 campaign and if he can keep himself largely injury free once again, he should certainly expect to rack up the minutes in midfield and we’ll no doubt see more of him in an England shirt as well.

  • Harry Winks fits into the category of neat and tidy with no real qualities always picks the easy pass sideways backwards he’s slow can’t tackle and if offered for sale would be like the players before him like mason and Carroll also heralded by short sighted upporters would only attract interest from middle order teams
Players like winks are only in the Tottenham team because of the way Levi runs the show and unless we kick on and sign some real quality players this time around we’lll never get to the next level
