Explained: How much Tottenham offered Adrien Rabiot to leave Paris Saint-Germain

|

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Adrien Rabiot all season, with the midfielder expressing a desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain. His contract is up at the Parc des Princes at the end of the campaign and he’s turned down the chance to sign an extension.

Spurs have been desperate to strengthen the midfield after losing Mousa Dembele to Guangzhou R&F while Dele Alli is out until March and Victor Wanyama & Moussa Sissoko struggle for fitness, but Rabiot hasn’t been keen on making the switch to London.

With his contract expiring in just a matter of months, the 23-year-old would be an inexpensive signing for Tottenham. Paris United revealed Spurs offered Rabiot £4.3m as a signing fee in addition to an annual salary of £6.5m, but the midfielder hasn’t bitten.

Barcelona looked to have won the race for his signature, but they’ve since signed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax. Despite Rabiot’s reluctance, Tottenham aren’t giving up trying to procure his signature. The report says Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura are trying to convince their former PSG teammate to make the switch either in January or over the summer, but he’s hesitating on making a decision.
