Tottenham Hotspur and England man Eric Dier has certainly faced criticism this year from the fanbase for a series of below par performances and errors.
How much his England duty over the summer has impacted that, is open for debate, but he did end the campaign against Everton on more of a high after he opened the scoring for us three minutes in.
With the Champions League Final against Liverpool still to come before manager Mauricio Pochettino and his first team squad can truly bring the curtain down on the year, Dier took to social media following the game to reflect on the season, and he admitted itself it had been a ‘difficult’ year for him on a personal level but closing the Premier League campaign out in that manner with the fans cheering his name was a ‘happy’ way to end it, especially with the chanting.

He went on to speak about further improvement in the future, but with the speculation already swirling about a potential departure for him this summer, he can definitely play his part in bringing that curtain to a spectacular close if it comes to pass.
???? “I love Eric Dier, Eric Dier loves me…”
Was epic when that went up today! #COYS #THFC

He’s had so many illnesses and injuries and he looks leaner and meaner and great to see a goal today – I feel that he has a great role to play in this squad

Great to have you back, and great goal today
