Spurs ran out 4-0 winners yesterday afternoon as they took on Huddersfield and eased past them at the new stadium.
It was a pretty assured performance from the men in white and we can now look forward to trying to make a Champions League semi-final in the week.
With all the changes to the side, too, Mauricio Pochettino will be pleased he saw his squad do the work and, undoubtedly, Daniel Levy will be pleased too.
Watching on, he will have noticed that we do have good squad depth but, crucially, against better opposition we are going to need that extra bit of stardust.
Many of the players on show did a good enough job to get Premier League results – that is the pleasing thing – but how many, right now, would be up for the biggest of games.
There were players there for the future, too, which was nice, but Levy now knows – as he may have already – that the marquee signings are what is needed to take this great squad to that final level.
