Report: Frenchman set to leave Tottenham

|

According to the Daily Star, Hugo Lloris is set to leave Tottenham this summer and Mauricio Pochettino will pick Paulo Gazzaniga to be his replacement next season.

The Lilywhites have reportedly targeted Marko Malenica to be their No.2 for the 2019/20 campaign. The 25-year-old has made 29 1.HML appearances for NK Osijek this season, keeping nine clean sheets.

Lloris’ future at Tottenham has been uncertain due to his inconsistent form this season, but he still has three years remaining on his contract and hasn’t shown any desire to leave.

The 32-year-old has made a total of 290 appearances in all competitions since his 2012-move from Lyon and still has the support of Mauricio Pochettino.

This season, he’s made 29 Premier League appearances and seven in the Champions League, conceding 35 goals and keeping 15 clean sheets. Lloris has enjoyed three consecutive shutouts in all competitions –

Lloris won’t leave unless a suitor makes an acceptable bid, but there’s no side being credited with an interest. Tottenham may need more than one shot-stopper this summer too as Michel Vorm is expected to leave.

Daily Star say Malenica would only set Spurs back £1m this summer but there are a number of Premier League clubs monitoring his progress. Whether Lloris will be sold and the Croatian stopper brought in this summer remains to be seen, however.
