Daniel Levy approving this Tottenham deal has surely taken a setback

|

Tottenham secured a late, but important win last night as we edged past Brighton 1-0 to give our top four prospects a real boost.

It’s been a tense race for the top four this year but really we should be further away from it than we are in all honesty.

Even so, we need to get the job done and then make strides in the summer window, though the Wilfried Zaha deal – or potential deal – surely suddenly looks less likely.

According to the Daily Mail, we’re among the clubs interested in the winger but the Eagles have put an £80m price-tag on his head.

And, that in mind, you get the feeling Daniel Levy will be reluctant to sanction such a move, even with the billionaire backing we’ve got.

That kind of money for a player still unproven at the very highest level – even in this market – is ridiculous.

I am sure Spurs will look to spend this summer, but we can surely find better quality at a better price than this deal.
