Agent speaks out about ‘the situation of’ Tottenham Hotspur outcast

|

Vincent Janssen’s agent, Louis Laros, has spoken out about the situation of the Tottenham striker, amid rumours that he could be on his way out of the club in January or next summer. Janssen has struggled for form and playing time since his 2016-move from AZ Alkmaar and could be sold as a result.

The Netherlands international has made just 12 starts in all competitions and spent last season on loan with Fenerbahce due to opportunities being slim at Tottenham. Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Fernando Llorente are ahead of the 24-year-old in the pecking order and Laros is unsure of where Janssen’s future lies.

He told ESPN: “We don’t know what will happen. His focus is first to get 100 percent fit and then we will see what happens. There’s not much more to do right now, he wants to be fit and play but we will see.

Pochettino wasn’t took keen to discuss his future either, saying to Football.London: “I think we are going to play in the Champions League and it’s clear the situation of Vincent. I don’t think it’s a moment to talk about him. We’ve talked a lot already.”

Janssen hasn’t made a senior appearance for Spurs this season, having been out with a serious foot injury. He’s featured only once for the Londoners since 2016/17 and has scored just six goals in a total of 39 game. The centre-forward clearly isn’t in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans and may be put up for sale when fully fit.

Laros will want to get the best deal for his client, so a January departure might be best as it’s hard to see Janssen featuring much during the second-half of the season.
