Comfortable with the ball at his feet, Ake is the idealised modern defender, and he’d be a hit playing in Mauricio Pochettino’s technical style.
However, Spurs aren’t alone in their interest. The Daily Star report that Man Utd are also keen on the Dutch defender, with Jose Mourinho wanting to improve his faltering defence.
Unsurprisingly, given the Red Devils’ struggles at the back, many Man Utd supporters want to see Ake join the club. They’re viewing the young defender as the ideal man to improve their fortunes and solve their issues at the back.
Take a look at what some Man Utd fans have had to say below…
United Fans! We are being linked with some interesting names today. One of which is Nathan Ake. Decent young player, good passing can protect the box… I would take him valued around £40-50m #MUFC #Bournemouth #Transfertalk

I like the look of Ake if I'm honest but I haven't seen the others play. #mufc https://t.co/rowb18vOKW

I really like Ake tbf and a natural left footed centre half would be decent as Roja can’t stay fit

So, what does this mean for Tottenham? Frankly, it’s no surprise that Man Utd fans and, indeed, Man Utd are keen on Ake, especially given their problems. The allure of Jose Mourinho will tempt any player, if he’s still in charge in January, of course, and so that’s something that Spurs must be aware of.
Though, that said, Tottenham have their own man that could help tempt players to the club in Mauricio Pochettino. All Ake needs to do is take a look at someone like Dele Alli and he may get all the inspiration he needs to make a decision.
It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. He’ll be a man in-demand sooner, rather than later, that’s for sure.
