At the beginning of the week Tottenham Hotspur announced that highly rated young goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman had signed a contract extension with us.

The 20-year-old stopper is yet to make his senior debut for the club at first team level but last season he did technically make his professional debut as we took to the pitch against Barnet as an Under 23 side in the rebranded EFL Trophy.
Having come through our ranks, those who pay more attention than me to that level, do rate him highly as do the club clearly as we handed him a new contract until the summer of 2020 on Monday in recognition of his development in recent times.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has also used him on the bench when Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm were out where we saw Paulo Gazzaniga finally get a chance to establish himself as our recognised No 2.
Reacting to the news on social media, plenty of fans were happy with the development but however tongue in cheek it may have been, the calls for both Lloris and Vorm to be handed their P45’s is a little extreme.
Bye bye Vorm
