Some Tottenham Hotspur fans could not come to an agreement about whether they would welcome RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano to the club.
According to this week’s edition of SportBild (via Get French Football News), the 21-year-old is keen to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer, which is bound to alert Spurs who have been heavily linked with the centre back.
The report also adds that his release clause is set to be significantly reduced and he could be available for €60m (£55m) this summer. With Daniel Levy’s penny-pinching reputation, it is a different challenge altogether to determine whether he would pay that sort of fee.
Will Dayot Upamecano be a good signing for Tottenham?
Yes
No
Touted as possibly the world’s best young defender, Upamecano has been impressive this season for Die Roten Bullen and has also caught the eyes from the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Despite this, supporters were completely split and made their feelings clear on the possible transfer. One fan said that we should sign him “whatever it takes”, while another doubts that the deal will happen.

That’s spurs for you always starting from the back, next the middle, then stop & be unmoveable like a mountain to get a striker. No striker even when in need.
